the IMS-SpinLight software

 


 

For the semiautomatic inspection of spinnerets the IMS-SpinLight software can be combined with all
motorized UHL inspection microscopes (IMS means interactive measuring software). The software moves
the spinneret hole by hole and shows the capillary on the screen. The operator can stop the process with a
footswitch and clean the hole directly with live image control.


Easy usable inspection starts with graphical user interface for selecting the functions.

 

 Tutor guided definition of the spinneret geometry with final overview.

 

Object coordinate system for fixing several-spinnerets in a holder plate on the x/y stage.
This enables the repeatable positioning of the hole positions.


the IMS-Spin software
 

 

A fully automatic spinneret inspection can be done with the IMS--4nsoftware in combination with all UHL inspection microscopes
(IMS means interactive measurement software). The spinneret is moved hole by hole into the video image and an automatic dirt
detection is performed by measuring the capillary surface and additional geometric parameter s. In case of hole dirtiness, it can
be cleaned directly with an optional suction and blowing station by air pressure. After the cleaning, the capillary is checked again.
IMS-Spin uses the same tutor for spinneret geometry definitions as IMS-SpinLight.


 

 
Geometry measurement time for different capillary geometries:  
round 1-2 sec.
trilobal 3-4 sec. octalobal 5-6 sec. (per capillary)
Inspection time: approx.
0,5 sec


IMS-Spin has the possibility to assign multiple spinnerets on the stage for the inspection in one
stroke without any operator action, during the inspection. Each spinneret can be assigned to a specific
position on the holder plate by draw & drop on a drawing of the holder plate. Each spinneret has a unique
number to store all available inspection an measurement data in a history.
 

The history of all spinnerets is shown as a table. The results can be filtered and sorted flexibly.

 

Using geometry history a detailed analysis of deformation and usage for each capillary can be done.
Measuring results to evaluate: diameter, min. radius, max. radius, area,
perimeter, profile,
3x trilobal-radius, 3x trilobal width, 3x trilobal-end radius.

 

After a complete inspection run, the results are shown by an easy useable evaluation
module as several line and pie charts, or as text protocol.

The accuracy with a 10: 1 lens (0.7 x 0.4 mm field of view) is 1 µm.
